Information session and Q&A

What comes after a degree in French or Humanities? Join us at the Maison Française to discover how French opens doors to fully funded opportunities abroad, high-impact teaching careers, and top-tier legal practice.

This evening features two panels with guest speakers, each followed by an open Q&A session:

5:30-6:30PM Part 1: French & Law: Career Paths in Business and International Law
You don't need a Political Science major to go to law school—in fact, a background in the Humanities offers a strong foundation for a legal career. Hear from two distinguished attorneys who use French in their global practices.

Guest Speakers:
David Grimes, Partner at Alston & Bird (specializing in cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and securities; co-founder of an Am Law 100 firm's Paris office).
Brian D. Fix, Counsel at Dentons Europe LLP (advising on cross-border corporate and finance transactions across France, Africa, and Central/Eastern Europe; CEDR-accredited mediator; Adjunct Professor at Sciences Po).

6:15-7:30PM Part 2: Fellowships & Teaching Opportunities in France and the U.S.
Learn about fully funded fellowships and teaching opportunities in France (via the Lafayette Fellowship and TAPIF—Teaching Assistantship Program in France), as well as opportunities to teach French in the U.S. through Teach for America.

Guest Speakers:
Jasmine Deborde, Program Officer for Higher Education at Villa Albertine
Tal Mintz, NY Recruitment Director at Teach for America.

Light refreshments will be served during the Q&A.
